Art makes us happy. Films, paintings, and music inspire our vision and direct our style. So when visiting our friend Sophie Hirsch's sculpture studio in Greenpoint it's no surprise that there was a spark, and collaboration ensued. Sophie's work is figurative and wild. It conjures the organic and bodily but is built from supremely artificial materials like concrete, silicone and sequins. It's the unexpected harmony found between these disparate elements that inspired us, evoking images of the city girl in Summer -- the vibrance of her wardrobe and the curves of her body standing in direct contrast to the scorching sidewalks she stomps down.
So what becomes a Summertime Sphinx most? A Pucci slip reveals the body while covering it in acidic patterns. The most ethereal Dolce & Gabbana dress accentuates femininity, then electrifies it with imaginative color. A jumpsuit so bold it would be inappropriate not to stay out all night dancing.
Spirited pieces are here to add artful irreverence to your Summer style.
